A brand new feature has begun rolling out slowly throughout all of FarmVille: The Pot of Gold! Yes, all of those pieces of Gold you have been receiving from your friends and your Leprechaun Cottage can now be placed within your new Pot of Gold!
Step 1: When you log into FarmVille tonight, you may be greeted with the above screen – if not, do not fear! Zynga is slowly releasing this feature to every farm and you will soon receive it – which states that you have received your very own Pot of Gold. You will begin placement mode, where you are to find a clean spot on your farm to properly set the Pot of Gold down. If you need to make room, click on the Multi Tool arrow icon to exit placement mode.
Step 2: Once you have laid the Pot of Gold down, you will be taken to the Pot of Gold hub, which is our term for the “Look Inside” link that you will find when you click on the Pot of Gold. This works exactly like the Valentine’s Mailbox before it, in that this will show you how much Gold you have saved up, how much Gold your neighbors have, how much Gold each of the new items costs to redeem for them, and all of that fun jazz.
Step 3: Let us take a gander at those prizes, shall we? In order to obtain any of these prizes, you must save up the Gold that you receive from the Leprechaun Cottage and from your friends. The first wave of goodies is Kelly Green Hay (1 Gold Piece), Clover Gnome (10 Gold Pieces), Clover Sheep (20 Gold Pieces), Clover Chicken (50 Gold Pieces), Lucky Fountain (100 Gold Pieces), and the Green Lighthouse (200 Gold Pieces). If history proves anything, it is that we will either see a second wave of goodies, and/or a special, Limited Edition redemption for saving 500 Gold Pieces.
Step 4: Of course, in order to get these wonderful goodies for yourself, you will have to save up your bits of Gold that you receive. But exactly how do you receive them? There are multiple ways, so let’s count them. First, you can collect three pieces from your maxed out Leprechaun Cottage once daily. You can also bring up the “Look Inside” menu on the Pot of Gold and click the “Ask for More” button to request some from your friends. Of course, you can also look on your Facebook wall and see who has posted some freebie pieces there.
Try sending your neighbors some of them, too, as they may send some back this way. The items on the Free Gifts page that is included as pieces of Gold are the following: Gold Harp, Gold Bar, Gold Chunk, Gold Coin, and the Gold Nugget. These are all classified as pieces of Gold and they all count toward your total amount of Gold. When in FarmVille, click on the “Use” button next to each Gold piece to place it within your Pot of Gold.
Step 5: When you are ready to “cash in” some of your Gold pieces for a specific item, boot up your Pot of Gold hub by clicking on the “Look Inside” link and find the specific item that you would like to obtain. If you have enough Gold to redeem it, click on the Redeem button underneath the item you want. You will see a confirmation page, as seen above, so accept when you are ready. You will be able to share some of whichever goodie you bought with your friends and neighbors thereafter!
