Mystery Game: February 27, 2011

Author Major Category ,

Tonight Mystery Game is another Best Of, and we recommend taking a crack at it if you have some free Mystery Darts lying around, considering that it is comprised of nothing but Animals — including two Rare Horses — for 20 FV Cash. If you are a big-time Horse collector who missed out on these two Rares in the past, now is your time to make amends!

Since we have already covered these items extensively in the past here at FarmVille Post, we will instead leave you with a gallery. Enjoy!

Rare: Asian Wild Horse

null

Rare: Pink Unicorn

null

Uncommon: Great Eagle Owl

null

Uncommon: Amur Leopard

null

Common: Blue Duck

null

Common: KungFu Duck

In our opinion, the winner in this batch is the Asian Wild Horse, as it is one of our personal favorites. What do you think is the best amongst the Best Of this week?

New Items: Knight Gnome, Green Willow Tree, and More

Author Major Category , , , ,

Let’s rattle off these Decorations while we still have electricity, shall we!?

null

First teased in the video showcase from Friday, which gave us a sneak peek at what to expect in this Sunday evening update, the Knight Gnome is one of the better specimen of themed Gnomes in recent memory. It is surely going to be a hit among Gnome collectors and non-collectors alike, appealing to just about anyone with a sense of adventure. It works well as a non-Gnome Decoration, too, simply because it is geared up for battle. It could almost work as a Scarecrow, too, couldn’t it? It costs 15 FV Cash, gives 1,500 EXP and cannot be rotated.

null

One of our most cherished favorites from the video showcase sneak peek was the Green Willow Tree, a non-Masterable, purely-Decoration tree that features a soothing animation, where gusts of wind blow along the branches, creating a relaxing sequence to stare at. This one costs 6 FV Cash, and we once again give a thumbs up to it; it is just as nice on our farm as it was in the video showcase, and stands out wonderfully if you collect a lot of various trees, since it is one of the few with animation.

null

For those of you without extra FV Cash to burn, there is one premium Decoration in the Market update tonight for Coins instead of Cash: the Mermaid Fountain. This is your typical Fountain Decoration with two key differences: A) it features a large, shooting effect with its water, as it sprays upward, and B) it features a Pig dressed as a Mermaid on the top of it… or shall we say, Merpig? This one is 240,000 Coins and is hard to resist, seeing as how cute that Merpig is. You will gain 2,400 EXP for the purchase, to boot.

null

Lastly, there is one small Decoration available for Coins that should not be overlooked amidst the other goodies: the Gumdrop Sprinkle. These are tiny items that can be places around your farm, sort of creating a fencing effect or even just placed at random to spruce up the place. We love using them to randomly decorate the surroundings, and at 8,000 Coins each, they are affordable. Go crazy with them!

The Mystery Game is full of repeated items, but we will deliver the images of them shortly!

New Item: Fairy Cottage

Author Major Category ,

Tonight’s Market update has brought up a much closer look at several items that first appeared during the video showcase on Friday! Let’s take a look to see if the lone new Building, which really caught our eye in the video showcase, is all it’s cracked up to be.

null

Yes, we truly fell in love with the Building that sprouted up in that video showcase, and it turns out that it has hit the Market in tonight’s update. It is called the Fairy Cottage, and it revels in a nice, diverse batch of colors and different types of foliage and growth, ranging from various colored trees that range from purple to green, as well as a complete assortment of mushrooms that decorate the front and sides of the Building.

This one is a fabulous design, simply because it does not take up as much room as most Buildings; as you can see, it is relatively small. The thing that we love most about this design is the gorgeous ivy that runs up and along the structure. Y’see, we here at FarmVille Post love ivy. My (Zoop) very own farm is littered with fences that are covered in the stuff, and Buildings to match, giving it a feel of rural Italy. Despite the clashing colors, as I do not appreciate the blue and white siding of the house, I am planning on utilizing this piece on my own farm as a permanent fixture, as it can be used to blend in with my other ivy-based pieces that do not belong to the Fairy Tale theme.

Back into third-person! We fully recommend buying this Building, as it does not take up a whole lot of space and can be purchased for only 15 FV Cash, good for 1,500 in EXP.

New Items: Black Beauty Horse and Invisible Cat

Author Major Category , , , ,

Howdy gang! Apologies for the late update tonight, as we know you are used to our on-the-second updates, but we were caught in a bit of a tornado festival – yes, it was as scary as it sounds. But we’re all safe and sound with our power returned and no worse for wear! We will get through this a little speedier than usual, given the circumstances, but be sure to stay tuned to FarmVille Post throughout the week for non-tornado-interrupted coverage of all-things FarmVille!

null

On the Animal Market tonight, we have a brand new Horse that was teased before the weekend commenced, and it now has a proper name to go along with its gorgeous appearance: the Black Beauty Horse. What a fitting name, as this is one tremendous Horse, featuring a lean, sturdy figure that somewhat resembles that of a Stallion. This new Horse is 26 FV Cash, which is a little on the steep side, but we are happy with our purchase. It shares the same mane of the Forest Horse, which we are a little tired of seeing, but this one is different enough. It also has its own Foal, too.

The other item of the night is a previously released one that was part of one of, if not the first, movie promotional tie-ins with Alice in Wonderland. The feline is dubbed the Invisible Cat, but it’s rather obvious that it is the Cheshire Cat, the dastardly fiendish feline in the harrowing fantasy adventure. This “double dip” to the Animal Market costs 22 FV Cash.

Stay tuned, as we will quickly run down the remainder of tonight’s items – before the electricity goes back out. Eep!

News: English Countryside Teaser #3

Author Major Category , ,

A brand new English Countryside post card has arrived at the southern edge of our farm, and it has one heck of a surprise included.

null

It seems that we will soon be able to breed brand new Sheep, including Lambs and Rams – whoa, that rhymed. The neighborly gentleman looks like a Dickensian street urchin, beggin’ passersby for spare change, but in all actuality his name is Angus, and he is in charge of Sheep mating, or so it would seem. We see a preview of upcoming types of Sheep, such as the powder-puff pink Sheep, the pink and white spotted Lamb, and the blue and white spotted Ram. You will receive the pictured Sheep by clicking on the postcard.

This is the first big feature ever for Sheep. They have never been included with the likes of the Nursery, or given their own Building. We say it’s about time! There are many great Sheep in FarmVille, so we are happy to see them getting some face-time. We suspect that there will be a handful of new sheep, likely no more than 10-15, that can be concocted over on the English Countryside.

Stay tuned to FarmVille Post for more info on the English Countryside!

News: FarmVille Game Feed collection increases to 200

Author Major Category , ,

You can now claim and collect up to 200 items in your FarmVille Game Feed, thanks to a recent update. Not too long ago, FarmVille limited Game Feed collections to only up to 150 items. This was an attempt to curb those players who were abusing the system by using automated services such as Gamers Unite!, but many players who were playing by the rules were upset with this.

Now that the limit has increased by 50 items, are you happy with this update? Sound off in the comments below!

New Video Showcase: Fairy Tale Theme for 02/25/2011

Author Major Category , , , ,

It seems these things are coming out like clockwork, as we have yet another video showcase for you, which previews upcoming Fairy Tale theme items!

This new video showcase features several items, including a solid black Horse, a Merpig fountain, a floating mirror, a green fruit Tree, a bristling animated Decoration tree, a wolf cub dressed up as Red Ridinghood’s grandmother, a gorgeous home surrounded by mushrooms, and a cool Knight Gnome. Our personal favorite is the new Building, which looks wonderful, with the blustery Decoration tree coming in as a close second.

What is your favorite in tonight’s video preview showcase?

How-to: Leprechaun Cottage

Author Major Category , ,

Yet another new feature lies in wait for all of us with tonight’s update, and it is a familiar staple with FarmVille at this point: a new seasonal constructible Building that will begin to give you a token to use for new limited edition items in the near future!

null

Step 1: You will be in placement mode upon loading your farm, if you are lucky enough to be on the early portion of this slow rollout item. This one is a much smaller property, only taking up a single plot of space – thanks Zynga, as we were running out of room! Once you have placed the item snugly on your property, you will need to start in on the usual building process. The first level of completion will require 4 of each common constructible material: the Wooden Boards, the Bricks, and the Nails.

In this case, it is the St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun’s Cottage, a new constructible Building that can be built to give you pieces of Gold to trade in for some goodies. If you have participated in the Winter Holiday and Valentine’s Day events like this, where you built the likes of Cupid’s Castle, you will know exactly what we are talking about. After a certain period, this item will begin to dispense pieces of Gold once every 24 hours.

null

Step 2: After completing the first portion of the enhancement, you will be asked to expand your Leprechaun Cottage even further with the addition of 16 of each material. Remember to ask your friends for help by going into the Leprechaun Cottage and clicking the Ask for More icon below each of the constructible items. This will bring up a screen where you can check off some of your neighbors, which will send them a request for their assistance. Be sure to help your neighbors, too!

null

Step 3: The third and final expansion will require a whopping 30 of each material. Yikes! That is quite a lot. Remember that Special Delivery boxes will give your neighbors – as well as yourself – whichever materials they need. If you need 30 Bricks, simply pop open 30 Special Delivery boxes and you will receive exactly what you need out of them. You can also scrounge up materials by searching your friends’ Facebook feeds to see what they are giving away, as you will frequently be able to post materials onto your Facebook feed – as can your neighbors. See? Giving is certainly a two-way street!

Upon completion, you will have one big treehouse known as the Leprechaun Cottage. It will not give you anything beyond Coins for collecting from it to begin with, but it will soon give you tokens to trade in for limited edition goodies. We wonder what the 500-token item will be this time? Last time, it was the Pink Swan; for the Winter Holiday, it was the Snow Stallion… We are hoping for a super limited edition Crop, personally, but we suspect it will be a new Horse, Duck, or Cow.

Stay tuned to FarmVille Post for more info!

New Items: Pegasus and Princess Duck

Author Major Category , ,

We here at FarmVille Post deliver our personal reviews of every single item, complete with pictures, of every Sunday and Wednesday Market update, and it is certainly that time once again to dig into our wallets and throw some FV Cash at the Market in exchange for virtual goods!

null

First up are the new additions to the Animal Market, and here is one we have long been waiting for: the Pegasus. Oh boy, oh boy! …We were so excited that we almost did not recognize the outrageous price tag of 35 FV Cash. Yikes. This will certainly stir the pot amongst many FarmVille players, as the usual high-end Horses cost 26 FV Cash, making this increase in price a little steep. Our voice of reasoning is: it could be worse, it could have been a prize in the Mystery Game, in which two tries would eat up more than what you are putting out to outright acquire this long-clamored-for Animal.

Of course, that is not the real outrage within our confines. You know what ticks us off? It costs 35 FV Cash… and does not produce a Foal. We feel this is misleading, as the Pegasus certainly resembles a Horse, so why can it not produce a Foal? We suspect this will change, though we are still waiting on those Unicorn Foals from November.

This beautiful black beast offers a shimmer of purple in its presence, highlighted by the lighter shades in its fluttering wings that stretch across its back. In terms of pure looks, it’s hard to go wrong, isn’t it? It truly is a beautiful creature, and one of great lore. Since we know it will eventually receive a Foal, as promised with the Unicorns, we’ll give this the nod.

null

Of course, with all of the hoopla surrounding the new Pegasus, the adorable Princess Duck may be quite overlooked (mainly people some folks may faint over the Pegasus and/or its price). This brand new Duck, which is completely compatible with the Duck Pond, is decked out in the attire of fairy tale royalty, and looks like she is waiting for her duck in shining armor to come along and slay the duck dragon… come to think of it, a duck dragon would be totally cool. This one is 16 FV Cash and only recommended to Duck enthusiasts.

Stay tuned to FarmVille Post, as we are updating throughout the night!

New Item: Fairy Tale Cottage

Author Major Category ,

We hope you do not have any cavities, because you might by the time you get done munching down on this week’s lone Building on the freshly restocked Market.

null

This is the Fairy Tale Cottage, a brand new single-story Building in the Fairy Tale Theme that is hoping to win you over with its assortment of delicious treats stuck along the outer perimeter of the structure. In layman’s terms, NOM NOM NOM! This brand new Building features zero animations, meaning that it has the option to be rotated on a whim. It can be purchased for FV Cash, but on a lower pricing scale of 15 FV Cash, which seems to be an ongoing trend of making certain Buildings more affordable.

We are torn on this one, to be honest; we just recently saw a Gingerbread House back in early December, which was several stories high and completely free, as it was constructible and required help from your neighbors in order to properly build it. Now, the Fairy Tale Cottage, which is essential the home from the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel, has made its debut. It features several key differences from the Gingerbread House, and in all actuality, we prefer it to freebie Gingerbread House due to how concise the arrangement of the sweets is.

If push comes to shove, we will give this one the thumbs up due to the decorations being tactfully placed and the price not breaking the bank. If you’re on the fence about it, allow us to give you the ol’ gangs-away for the purchase.

Mystery Game: February 20, 2011

Author Major Category ,

It’s everybody’s favorite time of the week! That’s right, it’s time to see how much money we wasted on the Mystery Game this week! Drum roll, please…

null

…A lot. Again. Jeez, our luck with this thing is dreadful. We managed to obtain three of the four Rares this week, but at what cost? Again, a lot – each dart this week costs a whopping 20 FV Cash.

null

Again, this is the dastardly fiend that has eluded us for a second straight week: a new Horse. This Horse is named the Falabella Horse, and closely resembles the Forest Horse in terms of design – but is much smaller. Indeed, when placed side by side, the Falabella Horse looks nearly half the size of the normal-sized Forest Horse.
Beyond the difference in size, the design is the same with the drooping mane and posture. It features a white coat with black spots, and tan hooves to set the paint job off. It’s certainly nice, but we’d expect something a little grander in the Mystery Game – especially for the 300 FV Cash we spent to get it.

null

And this little fellow was much less stubborn, as we managed to obtain him on our fourth Dart and again on our six-hundred and eighty-fifth dart. Only joking, it was more like our seventeenth dart. Still, ouch. Regardless, we have two of this cute Panda Cow for our Dairy Farm now, thanks to our quest to obtain the Falabella Horse. This one is the perfect blend of the Simmental Cow and the Belted Cow, offering the model design of the former and the color scheme of the latter. It is also smaller than your average Cow – it seems this is the small Animal week for the Mystery Game.

null

Of course, not everybody salivates over the arrival of new Cows and new Horses. There are many fans of lesser Animals on the FarmVille roster in terms of popularity and cost, and right amongst the many all-stars in the line-up is the Pigs; after all, they also have a fully functional Building. Well, this new Pig, dubbed the Teacup Pig, is absolutely adorable and, in our opinion, the surefire winner of the entire Mystery Game. Who would have thought that the smallest Animal in the Mystery Game would also be the best? You can use it to find White Truffles when placed in the Pigpen.

null

The second of the Uncommon item of the week is a brand new fox – a rarity in itself – and it certainly is a looker. This foxy momma is known as the Fennec Fox, a sleek and sly, crafty little devil that is similar to previously seen tiny critters, with its big ears and bushy tail. The three main colors in this one are a silver undercarriage, a gold main coat and a small black blotch on the tip of its tail. As per usual this week, this one is small.

null

Now this is the smarmy devil that made us dump so much money into the Mystery Game this week: we got every single one of them within the game, so it really must have wanted to come home with us in our gift box. This is the Sand Cat, an adorable little feline that lives in the desert and can survive for months on the moisture found in its food supply alone. Trust us, if you ever want your heart to melt from the cuteness, just Google the Sand Cat and watch the devastatingly cute results pour in. This one is also a keeper.

null

Lastly, here is a returning item from FarmVille’s past, the Babydoll Sheep. We don’t necessarily mind returning items, but we dislike returning items as both a Common Mystery Game item, where we are bound to get a ton of them, and an expensive Mystery Game item.  This Babydoll Sheep, as cute as it is, was originally released in early August of 2010 in the Mystery Game’s early iterations. It is certainly very fluffy, and has a trace of “What the heck is THAT?” to its appearance. It’s sort of like looking at comedian Zach Galifianakis.

Due to the price increase, and the fact that the Rare Animals this week are merely painted versions of existing Animals, we recommend against playing unless you have a few free Mystery Darts lying around your gift box. It’s worth a shot, right?

New Items: Ridinghood Sheep and Cat n’ Boots

Author Major Category , , ,

Remember that video preview we brought to you just the other day at the start of the weekend? Items by the truckload are starting to pour in from it, so we will start with the real money-makers: the Animals tab.

null

Now here is something straight out of a fairy tale that justifies the name that this theme is going for: the Ridinghood Sheep. This is a classic tale of a young girl who must cunningly outwit the Big Bad Wolf, who is posing as the youngster’s grandmother. Plus, there is that whole thing about wolves being a sheep’s worst enemy, of course. We like this one for the witty humor involved, so we will give it a tip of the cap. You can purchase this one for 14 FV Cash, which we recommend for all of the Sheep lovers out there.

null

Well, look who stepped right out of Shrek: it’s Puss ‘n’ Boots! Well, in this instance, it looks like Zynga has aimed for Cat n’ Boots instead, and rightfully so. Still, it is nice to see a tongue-in-cheek reference to a very popular movie series that is beloved by so many. That said, we cannot necessarily recommend the Cat n’ Boots, despite its low price of 12 FV Cash. The main reason for this is the fact that we do not see many differences, beyond the boots, to the Orange Tabby and this new fancy feline.

Keep it locked into FarmVille Post, as we break down even more of tonight’s hot items!

How-to: Greenhouse Quest

Author Major Category , ,

A brand new Quest has come to FarmVille tonight to greet us with a little something new to do with the Greenhouse feature, usually used to create Hybrid Crops. This time around, we will be completing specific tasks and fulfilling certain requirements to get something snazzy!

null

Step 1: You will find a small Greenhouse icon in the upper left-hand corner that will indicate that you have received the new Greenhouse Quest! Click on this icon to receive the above pop-up, which will rattle off the list of the first three requirements that you must complete. Beyond that, you will need to harvest 50 Fire Pepper plots, so get to planting 50 of those 12 hour Crops! Lastly, you will have to go fertilize 25 of your neighbors’ plots – so hop on over to five different neighbors’ farms and help their Crops out!

Upon completing these first three steps, you will receive 100 EXP, 2,500 Coins, and 5 Fertilize Alls. A minor reward for some, but for those of us with big farms, that extra EXP earned from using the Fertilize All will come in handy!

null

Step 2: What did the doctor order? More Fire Peppers! Click on the icon in the upper left-hand corner again to check out your objectives, which include planting 50 more Fire Peppers. You will also have to ask your neighbors for 6 Grow Lights, which will allow you to enhance your plants – in the story of the Quest, anyway. This will publish a post to your Facebook feed, where your neighbors can help out. You will also need to harvest your Cows and Sheep a total of 10 times.

Once you have done all of these requirements, you will be rewarded with some more EXP and Coins, at 250 and 5,000, respectively. You will also earn a White Treehouse Decoration to throw around your farm.

null

Step 3: Finally, you will need to collect another set of items from your friends, this time in the form of 6 Sprinklers to rehydrate your Hybrid Crops after they do all of their bodybuilding, or whatever it is those strange new Crops do in their spare growing time. This is the same exact objective as the previous one with the Grow Lights, essentially. You will also need to make sure you have enough trays in your Greenhouse to grow the 100 Lilac Daffy Crops needed to complete the Quest.

null

And what do you get for completing the Quest, you ask? 500 EXP, 7,500 Coins, and a White Persian Cat. Well, that’s kind of random, isn’t it? We were expecting some sort of new Hybrid Crop or something, but the Cat’s certainly cute enough.

What did you think of this new Quest?

Crop Spotlight: Red Spinach

Author Major Category ,

Sticking with last week’s theme in the Crop Spotlight, we will be taking an in-depth look at one of the three Hybrid Crops that we originally revealed before they hit the in-game Market in FarmVille back in early February of 2011. We took a close look at the Squmpkins last week, and the Purple Tomatoes will have to wait a while before receiving a proper analysis, as we are going to take a gander at something that would make even Popeye blush: Red Spinach.

Hybrid Crops are a brand new feature implemented near the start of this month, February of 2011. In order to plant Hybrid Crops, you are required to create them inside of the Greenhouse, which can be purchased on the FarmVille Market under the Buildings tab. In summation, you must mix two Crops together in order to craft a brand new Hybrid Crop.

null

Of the original Greenhouse Hybrid Crops, the Red Spinach is the lone 14 hour Crop in the entire batch. We have several 12 hour Hybrid Crops, such as the Long Onion and the Fire Pepper, and even a pair of 16 hour Crops in the aforementioned Squmpkin and the Lilac Daffy, but the Red Spinach is the only one in-between those two classifications.

In fact, there simply are not that many 14 hour Crops in FarmVille itself; the number is incredibly narrow at two, and they both share the same name. That’s right, the only two 14 hour Crops, as of February 2011, are Spinach and Red Spinach. Due to this, there are tons of variables to intercede our breakdown, as we can enlarge our focus to also encompass 16 hour Crops.

null

What we are trying to say is that, chances are if you are planting a 14 hour Crop, you are only planting that single Crop for the day. Most of us find time for eight hours of sleep per night, making a 14 hour harvest manageable as the sole piece of farming that you will accomplish for that 24 hour period, usually planted at the start of your day and harvested by the end of it. Due to this, we will eliminate the 12 hour Crop comparisons, which run on a rigid schedule where most folks usually plant and harvest at 12 hour intervals.

Because of this, we will focus on 14 and 16 Crops that are comparable, as they tend to be the “once per day” types that are under the same umbrella. But first, let us take a look at how to make the Red Spinach. You will open up your Greenhouse and mix fifty plots of Rhubarb for 3,250 Coins with fifty plots of Spinach for 1,750 Coins, a grand total of 5,000 Coins. This will create fifty plots worth the Red Spinach, which broken down equates to 100 Coins per plot. Once you have Mastered the Crop, you will no longer need to create additional packets in the Greenhouse, and will receive a 10 Coin discount per plot at 90 Coins each.

null

We will work with the math given on a starting level, as a lot of farmers do not plant Crops that they have already Mastered. The obvious comparison is Spinach, the only other 14 hour Crop in FarmVille at this time. Let’s be honest, there is no real comparison of value, only by name; the Spinach can be planted for 35 Coins and harvested for 95, giving you a total of 60 Coins worth the income. The Red Spinach, on the other hand, costs 100 Coins initially, and gives you 255 Coins – 155 Coins of which can be considered pure income. That nearly triples the Spinach’s net profit.

So let’s take a look at better Crops to compare with it. The 16 hour Crops are not quite similarly futile, but none of them can come toe-to-toe with the Red Spinach – not even the regular Asparagus or the Purple Asparagus, which barely toppled the 16 hour Squmpkin Crop we Spotlighted last week. Crazy, huh? Meaning that, despite the two hours of disadvantage, the Red Spinach still triumphs over all of these 16 hour Crops – including the other 16 hour Hybrid Crop, the Lilac Daffy. Who would have thought that this differently-colored Spinach would be the Crop to triumph over all others in its time range? Certainly not us.

null

Like all of the Greenhouse Hybrid Crops, Crop Mastery is a bit more complex than, for instance, Mastering a Crop like Carrots or Wheat, or even the Limited Edition Crops that are around for a month or so. The problem with Mastering Hybrid Crops comes in the fact that you cannot just freely plant whatever your heart desires, as you must first concoct enough seeds to plant inside of your Greenhouse. Since you may only make 50 per tray, it can take a little while to create enough seeds to Master the Crop, let alone actually planting and harvesting them. Be absolutely sure to use Red Spinach Bushels before every harvest, as it will allow you to complete the Mastery in 1,170 plots harvested instead of the 2,340 it usually requires.

Here are the Red Spinach’s official Mastery numbers:

• Mastery Level 1: 390 Harvests
• Mastery Level 2: 780 Harvests

New Items: Troll Bridge, Fairy Gnome, and More

Author Major Category , , , ,

Overall, tonight’s update was pretty good, and largely in part to the Decorations tab, which offers a few cool solutions to a drab farm for Coins instead of FV Cash! And for those of you who enjoy buying stuff with virtual dollars, the FV Cash items are pretty cool, too.

Let’s start off with the premium Coin item of the night, the Troll Bridge. Bridges in FarmVille have become sort of like waterfalls and ponds, in that they occasionally pop up to much fanfare. This one is easily the best Coin object we have seen in a long time, and could have fetched around 25 FV Cash on the Market; instead, it can be yours for 200,000 Coins – an absolute steal, if we do say so ourselves.

On its own, the Troll Bridge features just the slowly rocking feet of a purple troll who resides underneath the structure, but by clicking on the Troll Bridge, you will find an option called “Look Out!” that will make the purple troll peer out from underneath his cobblestone fortress. This one is just made of awesome. It cannot be rotated, but we will do everything we can to make it a permanent fixture on our very own farm, for certain. Buying it will give you 2,000 EXP, so you have pretty much no reason not to, eh?

Up next is possibly the best entry into the Gnomes we have seen in a long time, and easily the best female Gnome since the Frankstein’s Bride Gnome from the Halloween theme. This is the Fairy Gnome, and feature intricate wings that look like that of a butterfly. The light purple wings do not necessarily mesh well with the teal dress that the Gnome is wearing, but it is a very unique Gnome, nonetheless, and one that will be vastly popular. It’s a bit expensive at 18 FV Cash, but if you like Gnomes, it’s a must-buy.

Speaking of 18 FV Cash, the other premium FV Cash item on the Decorations tab exclusively tonight is the Magic Waterfall, which also goes for 18 FV Cash – and gives back 1,800 EXP for those who take the plunge, pun-intended. We’re full of puns tonight, sorry. Like all animated Decorations, this one cannot be rotated, but it features some gorgeous foliage. This Decoration is like a party of colors on your farmland, with the pinks, purples, blues, and of course greens, all wind up coming together as one blast of nature for your eyeballs. Mushrooms, ivy, bushes, and many kinds of trees all mingle to create something so elaborate, it’s hard to take your eyes off of. We also like and approve of this one.

Four winners in one night for the Decorations tab, it seems. The Mushroom Knoll is a cheap Coin item under the Decorations tab that clocks in at 20,000 Coins, enough to spread the wealth and buy several of them to bolster your decorative roster for the new theme. Our only beef with this one is that it cannot be rotated. Two rolling hills are scattered with various mushrooms of sizes and types, with red, orange and yellow colored mushrooms playing their part in spicing up your green farm. It will, of course, look out of place on snow or beach landscapes.

Keep it tuned to FarmVille Post, as we will have a new Crop Spotlight up on Thursday evening!

New Items: Golden Apple and Giant Golden Apple Trees

Author Major Category , , , ,

Another Sunday evening has arrived, and we are once again on the scene to relish in the new arrivals at the FarmVille Market. As always these days with the Sunday update, we have a brand new batch of Trees to take in. Let’s take a look at the latest variation of the Apple Tree, shall we?

This is the Golden Apple Tree. As tired as we are of seeing variations of Apple Trees in FarmVille, we still really like this one; it almost has the feel of an Autumn Ginkgo Tree, which is one of our personal favorites in the game; the leaf assortment is more… well, gold, rather than the feel of a seasonal tree. It will cost you the usual 5 FV Cash to acquire, and can be harvested once every two days for 150 Coins – the same as always with Limited Edition Trees, and requires the usual 75 harvests for the initial level of Mastery to be attained.

As per usual these days, we have bigger versions of the Limited Edition Level 1 Trees to evolve into. This is the Giant Golden Apple Tree, the Level 2 edition of the previously mentioned Tree. Now this, on the other hand, is something we can do without; after all, the Mastery Signs are entirely too similar to justify making these gigantic Trees as a common offspring of the Level 1 versions; might we recommend making them a rare item obtained only through the Mystery Seedlings to spice things up? Perhaps a 1 in 10 chance of receiving one? At least then we would be more compelled to care about these similar Trees. They feature the same exact stats as the small version, and can be obtained for 10 FV Cash.

We recommend the small version. Stay tuned as we tackle the rest of the updates on the Market!
