New Items: Spring Egg Trees

Author Major Category , ,

It is time for some brand new items on the Wednesday evening Market update!

Ahh, now here is what we reported on yesterday. Previously reported as the Cream Egg Tree, this is the Spring Egg Tree, a nice little pseudo-Easter meta-theme with the Trees. These eggs might look like just your normal, average eggs nestled in the canopy of a high tree… well, not so much normal – more like pterodactyl eggs or something, because they are huuuuge! Still, they look rather boring, but once they’re ready, they will be entirely colored and varied, making it one of the prettiest Trees in FarmVille when it is ready to be harvested. This one is more expensive at 7 FV Cash, up from the typical 5 FV Cash.

Oy, we thought these Giant Trees were over with. We were spoiled with all of the cool Level 2 Trees, so color us disappointed at the return of Giant Trees, especially for such a cool concept. We’d love to see a Chocolate Bunny Tree or something as the Level 2 Tree instead. This one is a little larger than its Level 1 counterpart, and costs 12 FV Cash instead of the usual 10 FV Cash. It shares the same statistics as the Level 1 Tree, being 75 harvests to reach Level 1 of Tree Mastery, and it gives 150 Coins to you upon harvest, which is once every two days.

Buy the Level 1 Tree and grow your own Level 2 Trees in the Orchard.

Free Stuff Friday #7: April’s Limited Edition Trees

Author Major Category , , , , ,

The English Countryside has arrived, so while many of you have been rubbing your palms together like a crazy, mad scientist, thinking of all of the possibilities you can come up with for Sheep Breeding, we have been watching the trees bloom outside… before immediately getting pelted with snow. Grrr… This winter needs to end already.

That is why we have decided to hold a brand new contest unlike any other in the history of FarmVille Post. We will choose one (1) winner to receive one (1) of every Limited Edition Tree that is released between April 1, 2011 to April 30, 2011! Who knows which cool Trees will be introduced between then? All we know is that you will own ALL of them! Farmer Elsie will instruct the winner on details of how to claim their prize from Zoop after winning, good luck!

In order to win this prize package, you must complete the following steps:

Step 1: First up, Like us on our Facebook page. You can find our Facebook page by clicking here.

Step 2: Leave a comment on our Facebook page telling us what your favorite Tree is in FarmVille. Everybody has their own favorite in their collection, be it the crazy Bubble Gum Trees or the traditionally beautiful Coconut Trees. Let us know what your favorite is!

Our personal favorite Tree in all of FarmVille is the Lychee Tree, as seen above. It was originally made available back in June of 2010 for a very short time, and we managed to grab a single Lychee Tree before it disappeared. It is now available as a RewardVille purchase, which we were definitely excited about. We can’t wait to Master it!

Be sure to tell your friends about us by clicking “Share” on our Facebook statuses and links! We give stuff away every Friday! The cut-off date for entry to this contest is Friday, April 1st at 12:00am sharp, so make sure you enter before then! We will choose a winner on that same date, and they will be contacted by Farming Elsie on Facebook! If you get a message from Farming Elsie, it is 100% legitimate and you have won! We do not declare winners in public due to the fact that our readers’ privacy is very dear to us. At this time, only United States citizens are able to enter. Duplicate entries will result in disqualification, in order to keep things fair. Good luck, and congratulations to this week’s winner!

If you are new to FarmVille Post, please take a look around! You can find our weekly in-depth articles on Crops by searching our Crop Spotlights, like this one on Nachos! If you’re into thorough research for various new features around FarmVille, take a look at our How-to sections, which is deeper than a copy and paste of Zynga’s own community guides. We also review every item that arrives on the Market, usually on Sunday and Wednesday evenings, like this review of this week’s Mystery Game.

For the latest Contest we are running, check out our Contests page – even if this contest has expired, there is an active one every week! After all, every Friday is Free Stuff Friday!

News: Rare Trees on the Free Gifts Page

Author Major Category ,

Five rare Trees have made their way back to FarmVille, thanks to the Free Gifts page!

For months now, we have been longing for a way to freely and easily obtain some rare Trees, like the Cashew Tree, Walnut Tree, Jackfruit Tree, Guava Tree, and Breadfruit Tree; sure, you can receive some of them in Mystery Gifts, but it’s a crapshoot and let’s face it, not many neighbors send Mystery Gifts these days, as most opt for the easier, more practical Special Delivery Boxes.

To our surprise upon loading FarmVille this Saturday afternoon, however, we were overloaded with rare Trees in our gift box! Yes, it certainly seems that these five rare Trees have returned in what appears to be a limited time engagement to the Free Gifts page! This is good, as we have yet to Master the Walnut, Cashew, and Breadfruit Trees.

Are you happy to see these Trees return to FarmVille?

New Items: Golden Apple and Giant Golden Apple Trees

Author Major Category , , , ,

Another Sunday evening has arrived, and we are once again on the scene to relish in the new arrivals at the FarmVille Market. As always these days with the Sunday update, we have a brand new batch of Trees to take in. Let’s take a look at the latest variation of the Apple Tree, shall we?

null

This is the Golden Apple Tree. As tired as we are of seeing variations of Apple Trees in FarmVille, we still really like this one; it almost has the feel of an Autumn Ginkgo Tree, which is one of our personal favorites in the game; the leaf assortment is more… well, gold, rather than the feel of a seasonal tree. It will cost you the usual 5 FV Cash to acquire, and can be harvested once every two days for 150 Coins – the same as always with Limited Edition Trees, and requires the usual 75 harvests for the initial level of Mastery to be attained.

null

As per usual these days, we have bigger versions of the Limited Edition Level 1 Trees to evolve into. This is the Giant Golden Apple Tree, the Level 2 edition of the previously mentioned Tree. Now this, on the other hand, is something we can do without; after all, the Mastery Signs are entirely too similar to justify making these gigantic Trees as a common offspring of the Level 1 versions; might we recommend making them a rare item obtained only through the Mystery Seedlings to spice things up? Perhaps a 1 in 10 chance of receiving one? At least then we would be more compelled to care about these similar Trees. They feature the same exact stats as the small version, and can be obtained for 10 FV Cash.

We recommend the small version. Stay tuned as we tackle the rest of the updates on the Market!
